STIFF BOOM CRANE
Stiff boom cranes are most suitable for general cargo handling and for service on board ships and offshore units where there is deck space for operating this type of cranes. Stiff booms are used for short working radius.
TELESCOPIC BOOM CRANE
A telescopic crane has a boom that consists of a number of tubes fitted one inside the other. A hydraulic cylinder or other powered mechanism extends or retracts the tubes to increase or decrease the total length of the boom.
KNUCKLE BOOM CRANE
A knuckle boom crane is used in the maritime and offshore industry. The boom articulates at the 'knuckle' near the middle, letting it fold back like a finger. This provides a compact size for storage and manoeuvring.
LATTICE BOOM CRANE
Lattice booms are commonly used on platforms and on vessels for mid range lifting capacity or long outreach applications. Lattice booms of 40m or longer will be lighter than equivalent box booms.
Davit cranes are used to lower a lifeboat to the embarkation level to be boarded. Davits can also be used as service crane on vessels, platforms or wind turbines. Davit cranes are supplied with electro-hydraulic or electric drive system.
